Biologicial Sciences Visualization Day Presentation
Scientific Visualization with Interactive PDF Documents was presented at the University of Manchester Research Computing event, focusing on PDF3D for Scientific 3D Visualization. The Abstract for this presentation is:
Recently introduced 3D interactive views within standard PDF files provide a new platform for scientific visualization. Visualization results may be published in electronic research papers, where in addition to static 2D representations, readers may interact with 3D models. Such 3D technical documents may be created by PDF3D-SDK or Adobe Acrobat3D. Examples of 3D documents representing biological, geological and physical simulations are described, including isosurfaces, contours, slices and volume rendering.

Oasis montaj 6.4.2 allows Creation of 3D PDF documents in the latest release from Geosoft. New to this version is the ability to export a 3D subsurface view as a PDF file.
